Late Depo?: If you go beyond 13 weeks since previous depoprovera injection, protection from getting pregnant is reduced. Best to have a pregnancy test; if negative, avoid intercourse for two weeks and then most providers will let you go ahead and get the injection.

No need to wait.: If you wait at least 9-10 weeks since a Depo-Provera shot, you can get one. For you, it is close to 20 weeks, so you can get it now. Get a pregnancy test even if you had periods since your last shot. You might consider getting a Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud which is good for 5 years (great method-no weight gain and no periods). You can get Mirena (levonorgestrel) even if you have not given birth. Talk with your doctor about your choices.
