Hoffa's Fat Pad: 4 year old gentleman with ataxia, hip, leg pain. Your son's knee x-rays were probably done to look for evidence of trauma. Hoffa's Pad refers to a fat pad underneath the patella which is sometimes implicated in pain and problems with tracking of the patella over the femur for different reasons. Your son is being evaluated for neuromuscular problems and the radiologist was noting anatomic findings.
