Bursitis: The most common thing we see in that area has a few different names to describe it: a bursitis of the hip, iliotibial band syndrome, tensor fascia lays syndrome. Basically, there is a tendon that runs down the side of the thigh and inserts on the knee, it can get inflamed and also get the bursa over the greater trochanter of the hip inflamed as well. Treated with cortisone shot or therapy.

Hip Bursitis: This is most likely hip bursitis. The chiropractors always say one leg is longer/shorter and the pelvis is out of alignment.
