Blunt patella trauma: Ones knee cap is the main protection to prevent structural damage to the other parts of the knee. So... When the patella is hit ,one will have pain ,swelling ,stiffness and lack of sensation . This all usually resolves over 4-6 weeks. The fact you still have pain would indicate more ongoing damage which needs to be seen by a knee specialist
