A-fib drugs: There are options for treating atrial fibrillation. 1) Use beta blockers &/or calcium blockers to control the heart rate, but this does not prevent a-fib episodes. 2) Anti-arrhythmic drugs vary in effectiveness and side effects: amiodarone, sotalol, flecainide, and dofetilide are used. 3) An ablation procedure is another strategy.
