Scalp cysts: are very common: epidermoid, pilar, trichilemmal, sebaceous. Pilar cysts can be painful if inflamed; sebaceous cysts contain oily skin debris material which can appear like pus, or you may have hidradenitis suppurativa...actual boils with pus in them. Sometimes the cysts have to be excised/removed; topical medicines or pills aren't enough. Work with a trusted dermatologist to find the answer.
