Acromegaly: is due to a benign tumor in the PITUITARY gland the so called "mastergland" which controls a number of other glands and which produces HGH HUMAN GROWTH HORMONE!) IT IS TOTALLY TREATABLE!!!!!! A 2-3inch growth in late 30's SHOULD BE EVALUATED by a BOARD CERTIFIED ENDOCRINOLOGIST! Asl your PCP for a Referral! Hope this helps! DR Z
