Tender lump: A tender lump may be an acne spot or cyst or various other skin lesions. If it persists more than a few weeks, especially if it is getting bigger, ask your doctor to check it out

Lump: Its probably an inflamed inclusion cyst in one of the ducts. Given that it is painful you should probably see someone.
