Uncommon: Mucinex (guaifenesin) in large doses can irritate the stomach but not usually the lower bowel- but then any drug may potentially cause bowel symptoms in a few individuals. I suspect that the disease you are treating with Mucinex (guaifenesin) may be linked to the diarrhea.
