Quite a while: due to yeast, not worms, the yeast can be on surfaces including your skin. Gets into cracks/abrasions. Treatable.

I had a c-section in sep 2010, I have big black-red icthy patches on my buttocks and in my upper thigh area & is now spreading, shaped like ringworm.
