Gyn: My wife swears by aleve (naproxen). She takes over the counter 1 or 2 every 12 hours. Heating pad to lower abdomen can help. There are some other over the counter products such a motrin, midol or pamprin. I hope you feel better.

Yes there are ways: If your "terrible things" associated with bad menstrual cramps/pains are due to primary dysmenorrhea, they can be relieved or alleviated with a variety of antiprostaglandins (like ibuprofen, naproxen, mefenamates...) alone or in combination with continuous oral contraceptive pills (like Seasonal or Seasonique...). Ask your Gyn to confirm your exam is normal and your diagnosis the try the above .
