Two issues: One: usually a doc treats you empirically for the most likely "bug" causing the bronchitis but you might have a bug that is resistant-is not killed by that particular drug. He can get a sputum culture and send it to a lab. Two: Even after having killed the bugs you could still have some residual cough secondary to the damage done. That your body will cure with tincture of time. Discuss it w/ doc.
