Any procedure for removing healed skin grown over your stitches due to it being left for too long?

Keloid?: If the stitches are still in place they must be removed. If the skin is a thick scar this is called keloid formation and is not so easily fixed. A dermatologist or plastic surgeon may be able to offer injections of different treatments into the scar. Surgical excision of the scar may result in an even larger scar.
