Could be many things: A benign lesion needs to be differentiated from a malignant one. See a dermatologist or foot doctor for evaluation.

Who! What! Where!: With just a little more detail, it would be easier to help with the identity. How long? Size? Color? Where on the top of the foot? On the skin or under the skin? This is how a Healthtap provider can best help you.

Don't worry : Do not worry, very unlikely to be anything serious; but I would recommend being checked. Can be an osteophyte, ganglion, secondary center of ossification among other possibilities. An exam would likely determine the cause.
