Can be normal: Cramping and spotting can certainly be normal when you are initially pregnant due to implantation of the embryo into the lining of your uterus. Heavier bleeding, like a period, can be a bit more concerning and might suggest a miscarriage. Your family doctor or OB can help assess these issues easily in the office.
