A member asked:

Does small traces of bubbles constitute 'bubbly urine' or does this refer to only urine with large clusters of bubble?

Dr. James Lin answered

Either one...: Either small or large bubbles on the surface of urine may denote the presence of foamy urine resulting from the speed of urine flow and the degree of protein in urine. Anyone may have foamy urine off and on; if persistent, be evaluated for possible chronic kidney diseases, which comes along with aging, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, chronic drug use like NAISDs or certain antibiotics.
