A member asked:

I am taking 12.5 mg of amitriptyline as needed for sleep. average twice a week. is this drug okay to use occasionally?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No real problem: Amitriptyline is often used "off label" due to side effect of drowsiness. You are on a very low dose, and certainly at no risk. Would inform your doctor and discuss, but I would not worry about the anti-cholinergic side effects from such a low dose.
