A member asked:

What are the causes of period like cramps in late pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Uterine contractions: Contractions occur infrequently in pregnancy, but get more frequent and stronger as pregnancy goes on. They are a "practice" for labor, when the contractions become regular (every 5 minutes or so) and increasingly strong.
