Irritated lung: Seems you have lung irritation infection induced. The tickle comes from irritation of lung receptors, shortness of breath probably swelling of bronchial tubes causing asthma symptoms. For the tickle, a medication like Tessalon pearl is helpful and for the difficulty breathing, an inhaler like Ventolin helpful. If mucus is thick Robitussin or Robitussin DM (guaifenesin and dextromethorphan) helpful. See M.D.
