Ovulatory Pain: Ovulatory pain can occur on a cyclical basis and sometimes manifest as rib pain (because of scant blood irritating the abdominal cavity and diaphragm). If you have not had unprotected sex, I would not be concerned. I would recommend Ibuprofen for pain control. Also, take this opportunity to review your fertility desires and contraceptive choices if you want to have some form of protection. Dr M
