Nerve pain: It appears that there is an intermittent impingement of a nerve or muscle which may be positional and causing sharp,shooting thigh pain. The inpingement could be occurring in the groin and may have to do with obesity or prolonged sitting. A small inguinal hernia would be a less likely cause. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your physician.
