A member asked:

I've seen my gyno for years but i started seeing a new gyno for a second opinion. is there a way that my first gyno will find out i've seen another dr?

If the 2nd Gyno: Asked the 1st Gyno for records then they would find out about each other. Some of the insurance companies don't allow you to see more than 1 specialist about the same problem and would deny payment.

It would be best: Doctors have pretty thick skins and are rarely offended when patients seek another's advice. They want you to have confidence in their answers and know that a 2nd opinion will most likely reinforce their own. The records from the first doc will save time and provide new insight to the 2nd doc. If you're not comfortable then chances are doc isn't either and is glad to see you go.
