Yes: There are many people living in the thermal area of New Zealand and there are no issues with your visit. However do avoid the very hot thermal baths as it can be difficult for pregnant woman to control their temperature and that of the baby. I hope you enjoy your trip

Yes Rotorua is safe: Yes it is safe to travel to Rotorua during pregnancy, unless you suffer from asthma or other respiratory disorders. Sometimes people find their breathing problems get worse in Rotorua due to the gases from the geysers. It should not affect your pregnancy. Many tens of thousands of people live in Rotorua and many women safely give birth there, so don't worry too much!
