A member asked:

I just had tonsillectomy,if i eat solid food it is definitely going to get stuck in the holes where tonsils used to be again.should i still eat solid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes eat solids: The food will not get stuck in the craters where the tonsils were. The white area that you see in the tonsil area and black area will be the scabs of the open wound healing. Eating soft solid food, will improve the healing process and keep the scabs from getting too large which will then prevent bleeding. Take your Tylenol (acetaminophen) and don't give into the pain. You should heal in 14 to 20 days.Good luck!
