Depends: Many people have chronic untreated lyme. The longer it goes undiagnosed and untreated, the harder it may be to treat. Symptoms are many, and can involve multiple systems.

Clinicians need to be cautious regarding this infection, as treatment has potential to reverse the neurological problems, and result in a successful outcome. Not fully clear what the full effect of chronic lyme may be.
