Partial blockage: The trauma of abdominal surgery causes scar tissue to form around the bowels. The intestine is designed to move freely around the belly but scar tissue can hold parts of the bowel in one place while other parts move around and can cause blockages. Can happen anytime. Partial obstructions allow some stuff to pass but slows things down causing bloating and pain. A briefliquid diet can improve things
