Spinal stenosis: Although typically lumbar spinal stenosis produces symptoms in the low back and legs ,I there can also be involvement in the thoracic spine New onset of severe pain between shoulder blades with irritation of the intercostal nerves [numbness around ribs} IS CONCERNING. You should be further evaluated soon to facilitate relief of your increased symptoms.
