A member asked:

Why do i hear my heartbeat when i lie on the pillow with my ears folded (covering ear canal)? is this because of the temporal arteries/veins near ear?

Sort of: When you lie on your side you may feel the artery pulsations in and around the ear structures but hearing the sound is not so common but it's possible that what you're hearing is the artery touching ear tissue with each beat. If These sensations are very marked, have your blood pressure checked but, more than likely, there's nothing to worry about.
