Red Wine for Heart: Antioxidants in red wine called Polyphenols- Resveratrol may help protect the lining of blood vessels in the heart. Most research on Resveratrol has been done on animals, not people. Resveratrol is present in Red and purple grape juices peanuts, blueberries and cranberries. American Heart Association, and National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute do not recommend alcohol to prevent heart disease.
