Can pain, sore lefneck muscle have an effect on breathing. have on/off slight breathing issue that seems related to tightness muscle neck/upper chest ?

Maybe: Muscle soreness that is increased with breathing can cause the patient to stop taking deep breaths and that leads to collapse of parts of their lungs. So it can happen. That being said, it has to be confirmed and checked by a doctor to make sure that there is nothing else going on.
