Fatigue & muscle loss over last year. some thick phlegm. just had negative ct. could this be early small cell lung cancer not yet showing on scan.

Small cell or oat ce: T cell tumor of the lung are usually diagnosed by the pathologist at autopsy. They are not usually the lung cancers picked up when you are alive. Those are adenocarcinomas, or carcinoid tumors of the lung. Helical CT scans are the most sensitive tests for picking these up. Best prevention is never to smoke tobacco or stop today.
