Details matter: What is the reason for an antibiotic? Which antibiotic? Tablet or capsule? Are you unable to swallow it? Many meds can be cut-------pill cutters are standard. Some should not be cut. Nationally in USA 70% of antibiotic prescriptions are inappropriate. It is OK to question if you really need whatever it is.

Depends, maybe (not): I'm assuming that by cutting in half, you're still going to take full dose, just in smaller portions at same time. Unfortunately, the answer still remains maybe (not) b/c some medications are not intended to be cut or crushed. It would be helpful if you mentioned the name of the antibiotic (or medication). Your pharmacist can tell you. Or just write back w/name of antibiotic.
