Typical of bacterial: infection in the lacrimal fluid (over surface of sclera & cornea) which is secreted (obtained from blood plasma) by the lacrimal gland over each eye. With irritation, more white blood cells are also secreted into this fluid. When white blood cells eat/ingest bacteria they also produce green enzymes as part of attacking/digesting the ingested bacteria, thus the green color. Deal with the infection.
