Avoid loud noises: After one episode of exposure to very loud noise, if you feel like your hearing is normal, you probably don't need to see an audiologist. But, the well-known cause of premature reduced hearing is repeated exposure to loud noises, such as loud music, factory work, working around loud engines. Turn down the volume on the headphones and if you get pain, take them off. Give your ears a break to heal.
