Relax: Don't put any objects in your vagina to try to get it out since that can cause trauma. Perhaps try using a little lubricant on your fingers (like KY Jelly/Astroglide or even vaseline). If you still can't hook it, you can always return to the GYN office that prescribed it. If it's a day or two late in removing it, don't worry.
