Nipple irritation: If the skin around the nipple is broken/scratched from being dry, it could be that you got a little bit of infection there that caused your lymph node in the armpit to get activated to stop the infection. This is the normal process your body uses to get rid of infection. Don't panic. Use a moisturizer on the dry skin for a few days. If no better, if painful or worse, if fevers, get it checked out.
