Xray vs ultrasound: I'm trying to envision "under your cheekbone". Do you mean skin & soft tissue covering cheekbone or do you mean cheekbone itself or perhaps even "inside" cheekbone? If it's superficial soft tissue, ultrasound can help determine if solid or fluid filled. Xray can initially evaluate bones but CT scan can offer even more detail of bones & stuff inside skull. Discuss your concerns w/Family Doc or ENT
