Vegans get cancer: Simply being a vegetarian doesn't prevent you from developing cancer. Living a healthful lifestyle (food, exercise, avoiding toxins, etc.) does help to reduce that risk, but not down to zero.

It happens: We all wish there was a sure shot way to prevent illnesses such as cancer, stroke, or heart disease. Sadly, no such thing exists. You need, however, to have a lifestyle that will make it as least likely for this to happen and keep up to date with the age and risk-appropriate screening tests.

Complex issue: First, most reports on pancreatic ca refer to tumors arising from the pancreatic cells that make digestive enzymes; mr jobs' cancer arose from the hormone-producing cells in the pancreas. These are two very different kinds of cancer. And while eating red meat has been found to increase the risk of the more common type of pancreatic ca, not eating meat can only reduce, not eliminate, that risk.
