See answer: Rejection occurs when the immune system recognizes the transplanted cells as foreign or "non-self". Lymphocytes called Killer T cells, together white blood cells called Phagocytes, antibody produced by lymphocytes called B cells and proteins of the Complement system all combine to destroy the transplanted organ. If the organ is a perfect match such as from a twin rejection doesn't occur.
