Arrhythmia: There are many reasons to feel your heart beating--oftentimes called palpitations. Sometimes it is innocent and normal such as a rapid heart rate after exertion. Other times it may be serious and is a concerning arrhythmia. Common abnrormal arrhythmias causing palpitations include atrial fibrillation/flutter and supraventricular tachycardia.
