Temporal arteritis?: If your head about 1-1.5 inches off of the midline at the base of the skull on the same side is NOT tender then you likely do not have an occipital neuralgia. If you have a relatively new pain, fever, chills, very tender to pressure over the right temple, I would wonder about a temporal arteritis altho unlikely. I would see your M.D. again ASAP or if unable, see urgent care or E.R. now.
