This is an inflam-: -matory process aggravated by any over head activity. The treatment is to decrease the process with anti inflammatory meds and activity modification. You learn pretty fast what makes it worse, so you can avoid that activity. It also can respond to steroid injection, but not repetitive injections. Can be treated: Typical approach involves: rest, NSAID's, steroid injections, and physical therapy, usually in that order. Typical improvement develops over 4-6 weeks, but since most cases are due to wear and tear, persistent exacerbations will need attention. This should be readily reversible in vast majority of cases.
