Constipation: While normal bowel function ranges from once every few days to several times daily, constipation is difficulty passing (hard) stool. Start by increasing fiber, fluids & physical activity. There are many over-the-counter medications to help get your bowels moving again. Failing that, your Family Doc can check your thyroid function via TSH. if persists, consider colonoscopy especially given mucus.
