Eczema: flaky itchy skin is often due to overgrowth of skin cells and is often called eczema. There are genetic and environmental factors (such as temperature, humidity, chemical stress, picking at it, etc) and people with the tendency often go through periods of clear skin and periods of symptoms. Sometimes opportunistic fungi or bacteria make things worse. Your practitioner may recommend treatment.
