Started smoking 2 weeks ago. got fever, cough w/mucus. can an md see whether its chronic or acute bronchitis? i have quit smoking (2ndhand smoker +yrs)

Acute.: Chronic bronchitis requires several months of symptoms and in the absence of an underlying bronchitis cannot possibly be induced by smoking for two weeks. Good for quitting.
