Cause of pain after sexual intercourse accompanied with small amount of blood?

Dr. Alvin Lin answered

Post-coital spotting: Post-coital spotting/bleeding is formal term for bleeding after sex, which can be caused by many different reasons, for instance, trauma, whether from skin/mucosal tears (which could account for bleeding) to cervix being bumped. Bleeding could also be due to sexually transmitted diseases or inflammation of cervix. Oh and pain could be b/c you're not lubricated enough. Bottom line, see your doc.
