Define fever...: Temperature elevation over 101F suggests infection. Temps running 99-100 tend to reflect the sped up body metabolism that happens as a result of the surgery. Fevers over 101f can also happen if blood clots form (DVT) or if the lung gets congested after a general ana athletic. Check with the surgeon to determine if the fever you have is anything to be concerned with
