It depends on severi: Your appointment is not too far away to wait. In the meantime you can take some simple pain medicine like Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain control. If your symptoms are unbearable(unable to sleep due to pain or unable to eat or drink fluids, then you have valid reasons to go to the ER for a more urgent medical check up and treatment.
