Usually harmless: This may be the common and usually harmless myoclonic jerk that could happen just before deep sleep. You don‘t need to worry about it unless it is prolonged or if it happens so frequently that it begins to cause problems. Very rarely it is associated with something more serious later on, but I wouldn‘t worry about it if this is an infrequent event.
