Muscle injury: You t use your abdominals to sit up. Sit-ups build the abdominals. If over-worked these muscles they may be complaining by hurting.Try a little Aleve (naproxen) for a week and pain should go away. If you are obese omphelitis or omphelocoele (belly button prob.) are poss. Local tenderness is diagnostic. Another rare problem associated with rebound (bounce)&tenderness is diverticulitis or a Mekel's infection
